Delicately carved floral tendrils in an openwork design, crafted in 14 karat rose gold, are framed by a polished yellow gold border. This piece has a beautifully organic feel and is one of those examples of how skilled jewelers have taken classic designs, such as gold bands, and elevated them with an artistic touch. The ring is marked for 14 karat gold and was crafted sometime during the 1940s or 1950s, a period when jewelry drew deep inspiration from Victorian designs, such as floral and leaf motifs, and added modern touches like the two tone gold seen here.
